News from the band
July 2010: We are looking for a vocalist to share lead/harmony duties with Jane on a permanent basis. Experience of pop hits is essential. We rehearse in the Sevenoaks area and play all over the South East. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and successful band. March 2010: 8 Steps Up has a number of private functions lined up for this year and we have been lucky enough to enlist the services of guest vocalist Debbie Stevens. Debbie is very much in demand as an artiste but will be guesting with us for all of our Spring and Summer commitments.
April, 2009: Friends of 8 Steps Up were delighted to learn of vocalist Claire and sound man Jason's new arrival earlier this year. Joshua was born in January. Claire has now decided that parenthood and bands don't mix and so she has decided to leave us. We will miss her.
June 1, 2008: We have been booked to take part in a fund raiser for the eye hospital in Jerusalem in September and provisionally for the Bromley Deaf Club the same month
November 22: We were delighted to discover that we were being featured on the home page of the live bands and music venues website www.ourband.co.uk We have been on their books for a while now and have consistently been in their top ten chart for most visited band page. August 22, 2007: We spent one brilliant day at Field Studios with engineer Matt Evans. We produced a five track demo in that time. July 16, 2007: We'll be spending a day in the recording studio on August 21 working on our demo. This should be available immediately after that date. We still haven't quite decided which songs we'll record, but we are all looking forward to an exciting day.
