The technical stuff

Example content imagePOWER: The band does not have any special requirements other than at least four separate 13 amp electrical outlets near the stage or designated playing area. If you would like us to use our stage lighting rig, a further two separate power outlets would be needed. Please make sure there are no trailing power cables where members of the audience might trip over them. We would be happy to discuss this, or any other power supply query, with you.

SPACE: 8 Steps Up is now a sixpiece band comprising singer, backing vocallist, keyboard player, guitarist, bass guitarist and drummer. Any stage or playing area would need to be at least 6 metres wide and 3 metres deep. It would help to have a separate and secure storage area for instrument cases etc. We are happy to discuss stage requirements with you or with a representative of your venue.

OUTSIDE EVENTS: We are happy to play outdoors as long as there is a weatherproof stage and any flooring area is appropriately covered. A stable power supply is needed for outdoor events.

CHANGING ROOM: We like to look smart on stage which means we will delay putting on stage wear until after we have set up our equipment. It would be nice to have a discreet and secure changing area available for the band.

REFRESHMENTS: It is customary to provide food and drinks for a band at a function.

PARKING: We will need close access to the venue immediately before and after the event for loading and unloading. The band will need five car parking spaces. If parking is restricted at the venue, please let us know well in advance so that we can discuss our options.

SETTING UP: Assembling our equipment safely and effectively, running a sound check and lighting test will take about an hour. Striking the stage set will take up to 45 minutes . Please allow for these times in your negotiations with the venue.

SAFETY: Safety is very important to us. All of the equipment we use is regularly PAT tested and we carry £1 million in public liability insurance. We would ask you to consider audience safety when allocating space for the band. As with all of the above, we are happy to discuss and advise on these points.
